Win for a tyro Poker player Rebecca

June 30th, 2008

For a novice like Rebecca to win a poker game at Hart Shaw’s annual poker tournament proved to be a great luck. The leading South Yorkshire accountants organized the third Texas Hold’em Poker tournament which saw a head to head struggle between 16 qualifiers in the Grand finale.

Rebecca who was a tyro proved with her win of the holiday voucher worth 500 GBP that the beginners should not be underestimated.

She said: “The tournament was really good fun and a great way to meet others in the finance sector. I’ve only played poker once before so I was really surprised I won. I didn’t really know what tactics to play and was happy not to get knocked out in the wildcard. I think it was down to pure luck that I made it to the Grand Final table and a miracle that I won!”

Tournament organizer Mark Sims, Corporate Finance Executive at Hart Shaw, said: “Our congratulations go to Rebecca, and our thanks go to all participants for making this year’s event another great success. We look forward to 2009’s tournament.”
