Privatization of State Lottery in Turkey

The state owned National Lottery (Milli Piyango) which was about to begin in the month of August is having a good progress in the procedure of privatization. The Turkish media have reported this.

This process will take a start once the bill is passed by the Legislature for the financial control. In addition, after that to the entire successful applicant operator a 10-year license will be granted.

It is planned that 17% of the revenues will be awarded to the tender winnings companies and 3% will go to National Lottery Authority. The market share of the Turkish National Lottery is around 32% in Turkey, the annual turnover of this is 683 million USD, and the net profit is 189 million USD.
