Congressional Magazine Promoting for Poker Legalization
February 5th, 2009The Poker Players Alliance has started to put its movements to act on legislation which would legalize online poker, with a new president and a new administration in the White House. Alfonse D’Amato, the PPA Chairman entitled, “The New Deal: Regulate and Tax iPoker”, last week and that was even marked in the Capitol Hill magazine “Roll Call”.
D’Amato is an ex- Republican legislator of New York who was arguing that the legislators must be more prone to give online poker a second look with the country’s present browbeaten financial circumstances because of the revenue it could possibly bring in.
“The online poker industry and the millions of Americans who play on the Internet have been crying out for regulation and taxation,” D’Amato wrote. “The absence of government regulation, and in fact the quixotic efforts to ban Internet poker, has left U.S. consumers vulnerable and left billions in potential tax revenue on the virtual poker table.”
