Best Practice Standards set by EGBA
July 17th, 2008In order to promote the fair competition among the European-licensed operators the EGBA (European Gaming and Betting Association) has introduced some best practice standards to monitor the European gambling market for responsible operator behavior and player protection.
These Technical standards require to be followed by all the EGBA members with 170 technical points in the areas of their operations. This new standard compliance will be checked by the eCOGRA, subject to the review of quality assurance done by the auditing firm KPMG. Norbert Teufelberger, who is the chairperson of EGBA, said that- “These standards are a sign of our commitment to an exemplary level of corporate and social responsibility. They could serve as a basis for reflection at a time when governments and regulators across Europe are trying to find ways to best protect consumers in the online gaming and betting environment.”
Also the chief executive of eCOGRA, Andrew Beveridge said that- “Our goal is to ensure that EGBA has a meaningful professional review process for determining each member’s compliance with agreed and consistently applied standards, which consumers and regulators have come to expect in the online gaming and betting industry.”
