In this year, the World Series of Poker has seen some records been broken. Even with a dull economy, the number of people who have registered their names in this series is much more than the previous year.

Near about 59,000 players have registered in this tournament for 100 different countries this year, which is more than the last year’s registration numbers which stood 55,000 players.

There is also an increase in the prize pool, which is coming this year, which stands more than $180 million than the $160 million of money distributed in the year 2007.

The first round of competition will continue until July 14^th with the 9 players. These nine finalists will then head to Las Vegas for the final event, which will take place on 9^th Nov this year. This final event results will be telecasted from Rio Hotel on 11^th Nov in ESPN.
